This is Derrick Jensen's memoirs with a hell of a lot of really good social commentary de-bunking the lies and apathy of our culture.
He was raised in an abusive home and as he grew up he told himself that his Fathers treatment of his family wasn't happening, if he were to recognize what was happening he never would have survived.
He goes on to find a connection to the way he denied what his dominating father did and to how all of us on a daily basis deny the natural world around us and what our dominating culture is doing.
Highly recommended.
